Campus Mail Envelopes

In light of MStores' closing, U-M Purchasing and Grounds & Waste Management Services have created a new system for redistributing used campus envelopes. Grounds & Waste Management Services is managing the new system.

  
Excess Campus Envelopes
Units with excess campus envelopes have two methods to get the campus envelopes back into the system. Departments can (1) Take excess campus envelopes to Waste Management Services located at 1655 Dean Road, Ann Arbor, or (2) schedule a pick up from their dock on the Ann Arbor campus by emailing recycle@umich.edu. It is up to building staff to get the envelopes to the building's dock. Waste Management Services staff will collect the envelopes from the dock.
Obtaining Used Campus Envelopes
Department personnel can pick up used envelopes from the Waste Management Services office, located at 1655 Dean Road, (North Campus) just south of Property Disposition. Their hours are 7:30am - 4:00pm. Their phone is 763-5539. There is no charge for the envelopes. For more information visit www.recycle.umich.edu.

New Campus Mail envelopes are available through OfficeMax. Order online through M-marketsite. Order part #277423
Some facts about UM campus envelopes:
  • 500,000 new campus envelopes are purchased each year by departments.
  • New envelopes cost approximately $0.50 each!
  • Using 55 envelopes as many times as possible saves 1 tree.
  • If we used all 500,000 new campus envelopes purchased in a year to the fullest extent, we could save almost 9,100 trees!
