Student Personal Identification Cards
The University of Michigan Block M, seal and the Business School's brand mark are official trademarks of the University of Michigan. The University of Michigan, through the Vice President and Secretary of the University, grants individual students the right to use the Block M or seal on personal identification cards, provided that students adhere to the following conditions:

1. Students must use the standard card design as specified for the University of Michigan or Ross School of Business School.
2. The standard design, however, must vary from that used by Faculty and Staff. The Ross School of Business has adopted a card that is two colors (maize and blue) and includes the designation "student" in the design.
3. Cardholders may not photocopy, scan, alter, or otherwise use the Block M or seal independently for any purpose whatsoever.
4. Student personal identification cards may be used only for purposes directly related to the student’s attendance at, or graduation from, the University of Michigan. Personal identification cards may not be used for activities such as the student’s own business or to promote another organization or product. Therefore, printing such information on either side of the card is prohibited.
